Hay for Sale IN Iowa
<>
“Is This ‘Horse Quality’ Hay?”
This is a question we’ve heard more than a few times. We take pride in the quality of our hay, our machinery, and the practices we use in cutting and baling our hay. But quality is a subjective thing… and we won’t pretend to be your livestock advisers. So we submit numerous samples from each cutting of hay, from various locations in the field, and post the results. Because only you can decide if the hay we offer is the best fit for your situation.
You’ll find that we are transparent in pricing because we sell by the ton (except baleage). And we provide lab results for our hay tests from a certified lab. You won’t have to ask if our bales are smaller than last year, because we sell by weight. Call us today and let us know how we can help! We want to earn your business, and hope you’ll come back, year after year.

Alfalfa/Ryegrass – First Cutting
We use preservative on our hay, not as an excuse to bale it wetter than we should, but to prevent mold in any of those inevitable spots. Our bales won’t stink from overapplication of preservative, since we only bale under the right conditions. We let these bales go through their normal post-baling ‘sweat’ process and then store them dry-wrapped in black plastic to maintain freshness and color.
Price: $135/ton, average 1300-1400 lb bales. Approx $90/bale.
Type of Hay: Alfalfa, Ryegrass
Quantity Remaining: 600+ Bales
Quality Rating: Good/High
BALEAGE:
Let us know if you need baleage. Produced upon request only, in solid bales with a tight seal on them. We have options to wrap them individually or in-line. We prefer to wrap on-site at your location, to avoid damaging the tight seal during transport. For this reason, we can’t provide baleage more than 100 miles from Indianola, Iowa. It takes a lot of people and a coordinated effort to bale it, deliver it, and wrap it within that critical 3 to 4 hour time window.
NOTE: We sell our Baleage by the bale, not by the ton, usually as 4 x 4 1/2 foot bales weighing approximately 1700 lbs.
