“Is This ‘Horse Quality’ Hay?”
This is a question we’ve heard more than a few times. We take pride in the quality of our hay, our machinery, and the practices we use in cutting and baling our hay. But quality is a subjective thing… and we won’t pretend to be your livestock advisers. So we submit numerous samples from each cutting of hay, from various locations in the field, and post the results. Because only you can decide if the hay we offer is the best fit for your situation.
You’ll find that we are transparent in pricing because we sell by the ton. And we provide lab results for our hay tests from a certified lab. You won’t have to ask if our bales are smaller than last year, because we sell by weight, not by the bale (except baleage). Call us today and let us know how we can help! We want to earn your business, and hope you’ll come back, year after year.

GRINDING HAY:
These are bales that had to be baled a little wetter than we like due to incoming weather. They didn’t handle the sweat process very well, and have some caramelization. This isn’t good hay for horses – this is for the cattle farmer who is looking for some cheap hay with a little caramelization that can be blended in with good hay in a grinder. You’ll get a copy of the scale ticket when you take delivery. Price does not include delivery.

Alfalfa/Ryegrass – 1st Year, First Cutting
This hay is from a field we seeded this Spring. Seed mix was 25 lbs of alfalfa per acre and 25 lbs blend of perennial and annual ryegrasses. Because of the new seeding, first cutting, these bales are priced lower. This would be grinding hay, the field was well managed, but not totally weed free in this first cutting. We used a shovel to manually dig out any signs of thistle and hard-to-kill weeds. Most of the weeds are volunteer corn from last year’s crop.
